Paul y Joe DeGeorge son los hermanos que forman Harry and the Potters. Fundaron la banda en el verano del 2002 y representan, respectivamente, a un Harry de 7º y a otro de 4º.

Todo comenzó cuando Joe había organizado un concierto de rock en el patio de atrás de su casa, pero tuvieron tan mala suerte que todas las bandas cancelaron su actuación. Cómo ya habían invitado a la gente, tenían que encontrar una solución. Paul llevaba un pensando en un hipotético grupo: Harry and the Potters. La mañana del concierto, Paul y Joe habían escrito siete canciones en una hora. Después, practicaron y practicaron alrededor de media hora. Fue un éxito.

Paul y George, desde Norwood, Massachussets, graban su primer álbum, Harry and the Potters, en junio del 2003. Un año después, en mayo y junio del 2004, la banda graba su segundo álbum, Voldemort Can’t Stop the Rock!. El grupo colabora con otras bandas de Wizard Rock y realiza una recopilación de temas navideños, A Magical Christmas of Magic en 2005.

En enero del 2006, grabaron dos singles: Scarred for Life y uno más con The Zambonis: Harry and the Potters split 7.
Entre febrero y junio del 2006, grabaron su tercer álbum, Harry and the Potters and the Power of Love (Harry y los Potters y el poder del amor). George Pedersen diseñó las portadas y el dibujante de cómics Dave Roman diseñó las portadas de su recopilación navideña.
Harry and the Potters están involucrados en diversos proyectos solidarios y de beneficencia. La Harry Potter Alliance Darfur Project pretende “despertar al mundo” acerca del genocidio en Darfur a través de sus conciertos y campañas. El proyecto invita a los miembros a informar a su senador local para apoyar a la causa. También trabajan con la Sociedad Humana, contra el maltrato a los animales.
